Although content marketers might argue about how frequently you should post on your blog there’s no disagreement that you should post regularly. If you feel like you have enough high quality content to post daily, go for it.

 

However, the majority of us, and I include myself in this, would be better posting 2-3 times per week. The absolute minimum you should be posting is once per week.

 

Aside from being asked how often you should post the most common question I’m asked is “Why?”

 

So, why should you blog regularly?

#1 Blogging will improve your search engine ranking

In days gone by you could pack your website with as many keywords as possible and you’d effortlessly move up the Google rankings. Then Penguin 2.0 arrived and everything changed.

 

Keywords are still important but now Google rewards people who take the time to post regular, fresh content. Regular content will grow your website and indicate to Google that you’re an authority in your industry or field.

#2 Blogging will encourage your readers to keep coming back

It doesn’t matter what your business sells or offers, you need to keep reminding people that you’re there to continue to make money. By regularly posting interesting, informative content you’ll make your website a great place to be.

 

The more people you have visiting your website, the more chance you have of turning them into a paying customer.

#3 Your social media profiles will be more active

Social media networks are a great way of driving traffic to your website and gaining a following of loyal customers. To be successful on social media you need a steady stream of original content coming in.

 

This is where regular blogging can help – not only will you have things to tweet and post about, but you can also repurpose blog posts in your newsletter.

#4 By blogging you can show people your expertise

One of the best ways to stand out from your competitors is to share your knowledge, experience, and expertise. By posting regularly about industry related topics potential customers will see that you really know what you’re talking about.

 

For example, if you make bespoke browbands, why not post a tutorial on how to correctly measure your horse for a new browband? That way people will get some useful information and they’ll know which size to buy when they place an order!

#5 Blogs can lead anywhere

A large volume of blog posts can be used for a variety of things and you never know who’s reading them.

 

I’ve heard of people turning their blogs into best-selling books or being asked to review luxury products in return for featuring the brand on their blog. This is a great way of adding another string to your bow and raising extra income.
